Danielle Survives Her First Year of High School

well i wasnt sure about it at the beginning of the year.. but i survived!

and it was actually a great year! im gonna miss a lot of the teachers and classes :(

but i made a lot of memories and i learned a lot of new things that will get me through life

so finals were kinda stressful and today we started our 1 final at 7:30 and got out of school at 9:15. waste of time much? oh and to make it better i only need to talk to my teacher for 3 minutes about my art project for the final.

but it was still a fun day. the buses were all out of order and we were all the way in the front of the line *sigh*

oh and i had to make josh get stuff out of the top of my locker for me :p

my locker is now an empty shell :( maybe i can try to make it look a little nicer next year.

so far ive learned that i got a 91 on my french final! (cuz i had to exchange the spanish packet i got for a french one) and so far i have a 68/70 on the art final! (she still has to grade the paper which is worth the other 30 points)

well.. as much as i would love ot go on with this post forever and include every detail, i cant.

P.S. i will do the notebook posts as i clean out my binders. for the history one i will just pick up where i left off. i will try to get one done at least once a week.

I look forward to blogging on here again next year. until then i will post to my personal blog as often as possible.

also as soon as i get my schedule in the mail (even tho i kinda already have it) i will post my schedule so you can start getting used to it and ask questions and whatnot. i will do a new intro post for next year probly in august sometime so its more up to date.

so.. for the last time this school year:

Today is awesome because finals are over and summer is beginning!

Angela: welcome and good luck. You're going to enjoy it here with us! :)

Eric says Goodbye

Ok guys. This is it. My last day of school. I don't have to go tomorrow because it's A block exams. For A Block, I have study, so I don't have to go.

Geometry- Yea. I failed. We all should have seen this coming.

Break- Kasey has astigmatism! Josh gave me half a twizzler and a Rice Krispie Treat (which I crushed on my own.)

Digital Media- There were only 2 of us actually in the Digital Media room. Everyone else was either home or in the cafeteria. We watched soccer the whole time. The guy who took away my cell phone all that time ago offered us ice cream sandwiches.

They were setting up for graduation in the court yard, so I had to exit the school through the swim hallway doors instead.

So, throughout this year, I've been compiling a list of advice for future freshmen. Here it is:

-Don't be afraid to kneel at your locker
-Don't plan all of your classes based on what your friends are taking. Except for Acting, you'll need a friend.
-Be sure to leave a place where someone can walk in your respective hallway.
-If you don't like the first day of a class, don't lose hope.
-All the math teachers are crazy. Expect no less.
-Don't freak out about your classes, they're all labeled with numbers. 300-399=Third floor. 200-299= Second Floor, etc. In numerical order. All the subjects have their own hallways.
-Be mature, not annoying.
-Don't complain about homework. Teachers will never change the homework because you want to.
-Some may describe advisory as pointless. It's not. Enjoy it.
-Don't be afraid of the upperclassmen.
-Don't be worried about the bus, it's really not that bad.
-You'll eventually fall into a routine surrounding your locker, your mornings, your routes, etc.
-Don't worry if after the first month you're still barely making it to the bus because you take too long at your locker. You'll get it.
-Be open and friendly.
-Have fun.

Do you remember before school started? Back when we left those summaries of us? I figured I'd repost mine, except, with my current interests.

Hi, I'm Eric. I'm fourteen years old (turning fifteen on September 7th.) I'm a soph0more.

My favorite color is orange. I have a cat named Jojo. (See his picture in the sidebar.) I discovered the musical Rent by fluke over a year ago, and loved it since. Wicked is my favorite Broadway show. I can no longer perform a one-man version of it in my room at 1 AM because I just moved into a new house, with a guy living above us.

I have an semi-obsession with twitter. I love cartoons from the 90's. I record every episode of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, and The Real Housewives of New York City.

When I grow up, I want to be an actor or artist. I write *extremely* sloppily. I love rain. I don't love being in it, just being near it. I don't know, it's sort of hard to explain. Hard to explain like how the sound of fans running relaxes me. Yea, I don't know.

I was raised Catholic, but I don't know what I consider myself. I love reality TV shows. I haven't worn a shirt with a food brand on it since eighth grade. I've been on Honors for all of my current high school career. I still suck at math.

There you have it, guys. This was my freshman year. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Summer?

We don't know what we'll do with the blog this summer. Maybe once in a while, we'll update in case something big is happening. In the meantime, you can always follow us on twitter, subscribe on youtube, or follow our personal blogs. All of this is in the sidebar.

Next Year?

I don't see how it'll be different than this year. The only change will be the writers. Yup, you heard it right. Change in the writers. Danielle and I will continue publishing our high school experiences next year. (We'll let you know if anything changes.) In case you didn't notice, which, you must have, Nick stopped posting this year. He's confirmed that he will be rejoining us again next year. Laura will also be returning next year, and hopefully she'll keep posting too!

And guess who our new writer will be?

Angela!

Yup, our favorite commenter will be joining us next year in sharing our sophomore years! She's sure to be an entertaining read. Throughout the year, she has been maintaining and posting on her own blog, Sea of Lit (previously named Through my Own Eyes.) In it, she reviews books (and fantastically, I might add.) I'll be putting in links for her in the Connect with the Workers section in the sidebar.

Tomorrow, be prepared to read Danielle's final day of freshman year. I'm sure she'll be wrapping up everything nicely.

Today is awesome because it's the last day of freshman year.

- Because I'm no longer a stupid freshman.

- Because I'm no longer waking up every morning for 6 hours in an un-air-conditioned building.

- Because it's my 2 Months of Summer.

Today is notsome because it's the last day of freshman year.

- Because I'm now a stupid sophomore.

- Because I'll miss my teachers and classes.

- Because I'll miss my 10 Months of Work.

Eric is False

Morning- I tried helping Rhiannon finish her study guide. Olivia gave me a cookie! There was a flag on it.

French- Last french class :[ The final was pretty easy. Afterwards we got our summer packet (it's about as thick as my binder. Uh-huh.), donuts, and lemonade. Some of us got hugs. On our essays, I put "I would go to Florida with my friends. I would go with Josh, Danielle, and my French class. They would have fun." I love(d) my french class.

Break- Kasey was traumatized after the Italian final. Her teacher talked all the way through it (reminds me of the time Ms. Novaco was narrating through The Odyssey.) Angela told us how on her history test, there was a true/false section, and the directions said "All answers are false."

History- We didn't get that section. >:[ The essay was the only problem. Everything else was okay. Danielle was upset that it was our last time hearing announcements in the history room.

Today is awesome because we got donuts.
Today is notsome because it was our last french class together. Let's face it, that class is better than Advisory.

Kevin posts, yes its been a while

Holy cow! this year has gone so frikken fast its unbelievable. And i'm sorry to say that i got an amazing supprise with the awesome new design. the one thing i regrett about this year was not blogging more.

this week is all about finals, and today i took my math final and it was ok.

today is awesome because with each final is like being freed from prison.

today is not awesome because even if we are freed, we still have to go backnext year.

Eric writes an essay about The Hunger Games

Half-day, and final day.

Science final- Did alright. The electricity section was tough, though. Makenzie pulled out a huge stack of flash cards she made for English. That's how I learned all the vocab words.

Break- Turns out Whitney *isn't* bisexual. Ooops. Found out Kayleigh lives right down the street from me!

English- Did pretty well, actually. We had to do an essay on what an individual would do for love in The Odyssey, Romeo and Juliet, and other modern works. I did The Hunger Games. :]

Today is awesome because I'm home at noon.

Eric wants a Ford

French- Took our speaking part of the final! I got an 80! That's ok.

In French: Mrs. Petronis: If you had money, what kind of car would you buy?
In French: I would buy a Ford.
In English: Mrs. Petronis: Really? Everyone else said a Porsche, and you want a Ford?
In English: I don't know!

English- Took the reading and responding part of our final. Meh. That story was awful, by the way.

Lunch- Danielle and Olivia wanted to go to their guidance appointments, but Mrs. Metzler wasn't there, so they couldn't! >:[

Science- Played the review game! I got all my questions right, muahaha! We ended up losing by like, 2000. But there were moments we were almost winning, and one time we were tied! I told Ainsley "Welcome to the losing side!" And she was like "yea."

Advisory- We got more cheddar popcorn! And Sprite! And strawberry chewy hard candies! Yea!

Stage craft- We watched the school production of Into the Woods! We had issues with the DVD player.

After school- Stayed after school for the history review. There was 44 of us there. Only 4 people didn't go. Olivia got C Block Acting with me and Gym with me next year! Yay! She met with Mrs. Metzler during advisory. Yay for not being alone!

Today is awesome because of Solitaire.

Eric's back back back. Back again 'gain 'gain.

I'm back! And only 6 days left of school! Whaaaat?

I know, I know, I fail. I stopped posting for like, a month. Sorry! I had a lot going on, what with the new house and everything.

So, 6 more days left of Freshman year. I know, right?

Study- It was dark for a while. Mrs. Flarrety started yelling at Mr. Donaghy. +1 for Mrs. Flarrety. -1 For Mr. Donaghy .

Digital Media- So, over the course of my absence, guess what? Mr. Riello's out for the rest of the year. So basically, it's just another study hall. For the past 5 classes we've watched Demetri Martin and played games on the computer. P:

Lunch- Olivia kicked Whitney and hit her on the head with a bottle of orange juice. :D

Geometry- Probably failed a test.

Advisory- Mrs. Lengyel gave us a-mazing cheddar popcorn. It was delicious.

History- Got a 94 on my research paper! Yes!!! Did nothing the rest of the class. I know, right? Since when are A days easy days? We watched Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, or as Danielle calls it, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It's better the second time watching it. I messed with Jami's iPod. Ants were crawling out of Jake's research paper. Holy smokes.

I was supposed to go to the chiropractor today after school (I hurt my back. How? I don't know.) but my dad made the appointment for tomorrow, which is when the review is, so we're gonna need to reschedule. Ah well....

Today is awesome because of cheddar popcorn. And my A on my research paper!

Danielle Attends the Last Supper

very ate post but i needed to put this on the blog and explain it.

in lunch one day last week we all ate on the ground outside and we were sitting in a circle. then rex came over and said since someone apparently thinks nick is jesus they thought that it was the last supper. then he was telling us where we should be sitting so it made more sense. we didnt move though. and josh didnt seem very happy about it. then next day in history we saw the painting of the last supper and eric and i said: we were there! :)

finals start this week.

Last week was awesome because of the last supper.

Danielle Finishes up Her Projects

Well we all know how the end of the year can be. work piles up so teachers can get enough grades in before its over. and the end of the year is fast approaching.

so last weekend we filmed our act of Romeo and Juliet (Romarrch and Juliet) and we are just finishing the written stuff. written stuff is due monday and the video is due wednesday. i got a copy of the finished video! :)

we got a science project assigned yesterday that is due thursday. i already mostly have it done though.

and we are still in the middle of working on our final projects for art. we have 2 classes left until it should be done. im really nervous.

oh and i was pretty much the happiest person alive on friday!! our extra credit on the weekly quiz was to name a monty python movie! i named all 3. then he told someone else that they could name the series so i put that too. then we watched 2 clips from monty python and the holy grail!! i love mr. tomlin so much sometimes :).

improvised dialogue for people wearing hats on thursday in stage craft.

so.. that's about all of interest i think.

This week was awesome because we had monday off and because of monty python!!!!
