Danielle's First Day of School Post
Bus Ride
At the beginning of the day, when I got on the bus (at 6:30 by the way!), I got to see some people I haven't seen in a few years. I got to enjoy a long bus ride that I always used to want, but I'm sure I will soon get sick of now. We were the first bus to get to the school and had to wait for a while until the driver was allowed to let us off of the bus.
Before Classes
I had about 45 minutes until I had to go to my A block class (I'm going to try to get used to blocks quickly so I won't use numbers, incase you wanted to know). So, I stood in the hallway with some of my friends and we talked for a while.
A Block
After a while I went to the cafe for my A block class (study) with my boyfriend. We had to sit at different tables depending on which teacher we had. The teachers were taking attendance and passing out papers, including a new version of our schedules. Now, i knew it was possible that some of our classes would be changed, but of all of the things to change why did they have to change something in A block? They didn't change my class though (thank God) but they changed my teacher! So, while all of the teachers were calling names I was listening to the wrong one! The only reason I didn't miss my name getting called was because the teacher I was listening to (Mr. St. Georges) had a shorter list, so when he was finished I listened to the next closest teacher. As I'm sure you figured out that was my new study teacher (Mrs. Silva).
After all of this was finished I put away the papers I didn't need, but kept out my schedule and planner. After a while the teachers gave us our locker combinations and sent us to make sure our lockers worked. I thought they should've given us a guide or something cause I wouldn't have been able to find my locker on my own. Two of the kids in my study class that had already left to find their lockers helped me. I met up with them when they came out of the hallway that I was about to enter and told me our lockers weren't down there. So, I followed them to the second floor (we have study on the third). We started to go down one hallway, but the lockers were numbered too high, so we walked a while and finally went down another hallway and found our lockers. Mine worked, but I miss the last number a lot and it's hard to turn the dial-thing sometimes. After we got back to the cafe my boyfriend came and sat with me for a while. He was still waiting to get his locker combination. When he finally got it he had me show him where the lockers were. When we got back we listened to music for a while on my ipod and then we had to leave.
B Block
I had to find my way to my science classroom, next. I didn't have any friends in this class so I thought I might get bored and/or lonely or something, but I didn't. We didn't have much time at the beginning of class, cause we had to go to an assembly.
At the assembly we were introduced to people we would see around the school and told what was expected of us and about a new security thing they're installing soon. Apart from that last thing it's basically what you would expect from a first-day-of-school assembly.
Anyway, when we got back to science it was awesome!! My teacher (Mr. Mierzejewsk or Mr. M) is so cool! well, first I'll start with personal reasons why I think he is cool: 1. he likes technology. I'm not good at it but I think it's cool. He was asking what kind of phone kids had and he gave us his AIM screen name. now I know some people would think it's weird but I was impressed that he had one and he's not the kind of teacher that would make me think it's creepy that he uses it or anything. I don't know though, I'm strange that way sometimes (a lot of times). 2. he teaches astronomy, too. i want to take that class! 3. we will get to do a lot of labs. I like to do labs cause i kinda learn better I think and they are fun. Onto the other reasons: 1. he jumps on the tables! I think this is funny and cool, it'll definitely make me interested in class. 2. if we act out in class he will shoot us with the Nerf guns he has a stash of. I can't wait to see him do that to someone! Sorry if I sound too mean.
There was a lot of other things that were cool, but those are the easiest to mention and the ones I remember best. Oh, and about 5 of his old students came to visit while we were in his class.
Lunch
So, I went back to the cafe practically just when I left it. It was kinda early to eat lunch at about 10 AM, but we had to or starve. So my friends and I sat at a table and kind of claimed seats, though they may change in the next few weeks. We ate, talked a little, and got excited that this school has chex mix (strange and inside story, if that's the right way to explain it right now).
C Block
Next I went to algebra with one of my friends (Angela). The teacher (Mr. Skigen) was pretty cool, but kind of weird too. He's the kind of teacher that likes to talk to students kind of randomly I think. I think his classes should be alright though. During this class the geometry teacher came in to watch us and told our teacher to go yell at someone in that class for not doing their summer work. The geometry class is right across the hall, so I can meet my boyfriend (Chris) and Eric quickly afterward. Oh, and our teacher tried to get me to sign a kid's planner for him cause he doesn't like to sign planners. He says he's going to train us and one of his old students came in and basically told us he will throw toys and us once he brings them in. Weird.
I Block
I know someone may try to tell me that I put the wrong letter, but I didn't. This is advisory. My teacher (Mr. Cooper) is cool! He gave us candy after we introduced ourselves and shared a fact about ourselves. He told us that he gets emotionally involved with his advisory classes and was heart-broken when his last group graduated. In case you don't know in our school you get assigned one advisor for four years and you meet once a day.
D Block
Ok, I suck at history. None of it really stays in my head well and I zone out a lot in that class. I regretted accepting honors history as soon as I'd done it. I hoped it would all work out, but I don't think so anymore. The teacher (Mr. Tomlin) is really strict. He kind of scares me. He talks really fast, too. He told one of the students that we can't use pencil in his class, so he doesn't have a pencil sharpener, but Chris (who I sit next to) found one. We had to take a 100 question test first thing, and I had no idea what most of the stuff even meant. So, needless to say, that scared me too. Oh, and when he drop the books on most of the desks they made an extremely loud noice that made me jump. I know, I'm a wimp, but you'll just have to deal with that if you read my posts. Some interesting things that happened in this class were: 1. for a question on the test "Who was ????" (sorry I have no idea what the name was) one choice was "No one, I just needed another question to ask." 2. he asked us what history was and a bunch of people were trying to explain it. It was funny to listen to but I wouldn't have been able to answer it well either.
End of the Day
After class I followed Chris to his locker and then we went to find our buses in the line outside. My backpack was heavy on the first day, sadly. on the bus ride home I rested a little and listened to the people around me talk.
Today was awesome (both seriously and sarcastically) because it was the first day of school.

Laura speaks to Vampires
Ok, I know I said in the last post that “I love to read, even if it’s for school.”
But that’s going to have to change, because
I HATE MY AP WORLD HISTORY TEXTBOOK.
I still love to read though. Just not about Mesopotamian lifestyles.
My first day went pretty well. But I had to write a paper about my “Personal History”, front and back for homework. Ehh.
On Wednesday I got about 25 new books. For school. =D. My English teacher gave us the list for the entire year. And I got sparknotes for some of them.
Ooh, and I had a chat with Mr. Cullen yesterday. ;D
My The Academy Is.. shirts came in the mail today! I got a package of three random shirts; luckily I didn’t get one that I already had;]
Oh, and, Today is awesome because I got a Danny Phantom t-shirt at Hottopic today. Jealous? I think so.
Nick's Introduction
I have 4 guinea pigs (Almond, Hazelnut, Cocopuff, and Oreo)
I am a fan of Michael Buckley (Whatthebuck), various lpers (figure it out if you dont know what that means), and a huge supporter and fan of TheSpeedGamers (www.thespeedgamers.com) (they have over 9000 awesome points and are haunted by a special kind of gengar thats only ghost type). I am a big gamer myself as well. (for those who are curious, my favorite game is The Legend of Dragoon) Oh yeah, I guess I'm a semi-nerdfighter as well.
I am the Piano Man. That pretty much describes my future. I plan to be a concert pianist (classical) when I grow up, I have some vids on youtube (link on the side.)
I guess you could call me smart, just a different sort of smart. I golf, and I also shoot pool whenever I get a chance.
I like all sorts of music (cept country and most rap), but I especially like The Beatles, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, Elton John, and all classical music (cept Beethoven)
As an outro, I am the Piano Man (this will get very redundant, I promise)
Oh yeah...today was awesome because I'm going to a Frank Caliendo show tonight.

Kevin's Introduction
Some things about me are: I have red hear and freckles (yes, I'm a ginger). I have blue eyes. I've read more books than I care to remember. I'm a die hard Harry Potter fan and I hate Twilight (yes I read them and they weren't that good). I'm a nerd to the nerdsream (made it up) and I watch the vlogbrothers a lot (go John). I don't have cable, direct tv, dish network or any channels at all (curse you switching to digital) but I think "That 70's Show", "Scrubs" , and "Supernatural" are awesome.
Today is awesome because I got a tour of my new high school (not telling the name again my mom) and it has 3 floors. I'm gonna need a very large map.
Danielle's Introduction
Eric already told you about the project so I guess I'll just start telling you about myself..
My favorite color is blue. I have a cat named Ashes (or as Eric says 'Patches'). Almost a year ago I saw Wicked on Broadway, it was awesome! I love to watch vlogbrothers videos. I like to go on twitter when something interesting (to me at least) happens and when I'm bored. I watch Gilmore Girls every weekday except when I'm not home in time to watch it.
I don't have a religion.. And I don't just consider that I don't, I really don't. My family doesn't have a lot of money, but they try their best to give me things that I want. I have grown used to not asking for stuff, though, and I'm fine with not getting them no matter how much I want it (with a few exceptions).
I enjoy listening to rock and roll. I enjoy reading books with magic and myths and stuff like that in them.. It is hard for me to explain things well, especially my thoughts.
To follow Eric's theme: Today is awesome because it is my first post to 10MonthsofWork!
Pretty much the only reason I look forward to starting school is because of this blog.

Eric's Introduction
Hi, I'm Eric. I'm thirteen years old (turning fourteen on September 7th.) I'm a freshman. It's hard for me to do these first-impression sort of things, because I'm used to just assuming everyone who reads my blog is close to me.
Well, I guess I should start with this project. Basically, we're going to offer you a different type of high school experience. Ours. Most of us go to the same school (with Laura as the exception.) There's more information in the sidebar. (I've always wanted to say that.)
I basically started this. It was originally just going to be a branch off of my main blog, Gomezziblog (link in the sidebar) about me talking about school. But before I knew it, it turned into a big collaboration of awesomeness. I invited Nick, Kasey, and Danielle into this, and decided I wanted a couple more people, so I invited Kevin and Laura. Danielle's cousin, Jessica, found about our project and thought it was good, so she wanted to be a part of it. The more the merrier. I've known Nick, Kevin, and Danielle since seventh grade, Kasey since last year, and I met Laura about two years ago through various interwebbing. I don't know Danielle's cousin very well, but I look forward to getting to know her in the future.
Now that you know the story, it's time you know some stuff about me. Let's see...
My favorite color is orange. I have a cat named Jojo. (See his picture in the sidebar.) I discovered the musical Rent by fluke about a half a year ago, and loved it since. Wicked is my second favorite Broadway show. I perform a one-man version of it in my room at 1 AM. Tickets available.
I have a YouTube crush on hayleyghoover. I have an obsession with twitter. I love cartoons from the 90's. I record every episode of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, and Saturday Night Live.
When I grow up, I want to be an author or grammarian. I have a tendency to correct my friend's spelling and grammar. I write sloppily. I love rain. I don't love being in it, just being near it. I don't know, it's sort of hard to explain. Hard to explain like how the sound of fans running relaxes me. Yea, I don't know.
I was raised Catholic, but I consider myself an Atheist. (I may explain this at greater length later.) My family doesn't have a lot of money to spend and I go without some luxuries and privileges that most kids my age have.
I shout answers out when I'm watching game shows. I love reality TV shows. I love shirts with food brands on them. I've been on High Honors for the majority of middle school. I call my cat offensive names like "manwhore" when he spreads his legs and spins around the bottom of my living room coffee table in stripper-like fashion.
Too much information? Sorry, but that's just me.
I think we should have some sort of common theme in all of our posts. All I can think of is something really original like saying why today is awesome. (That was sarcasm. I forgot to tell you I use obscure references a lot.)
But really, we'll do that. Today is awesome because it's the first post of 10MonthsofWork. Well, I'm certainly looking forward to everyone else's introductions and the rest of the blog. See you later.
